Kiwifruit and ginger green smoothie

Green kiwifruit are one of the easiest ways to add vitamin C and fibre to your day, and they are at their best through winter and spring in New Zealand. This smoothie blends them with baby spinach, fresh ginger, ground flaxseed and hemp seeds for a drink that actually fills you up.

Why this supports your hormones

Kiwifruit supply vitamin C and fibre and are well studied for supporting regular bowel movements. Regular bowel movements matter because the gut is one of the main routes your body uses to clear used oestrogen. Ground flaxseed adds lignans and more fibre, and hemp seeds add protein and magnesium so the smoothie holds you longer than a fruit-only blend.
